After a mile hike on the Wall Street Mill trail in Joshua Tree NP one will reach the mill where nearby rests this truck, a physical history of the events that occurred on May 11, 1943. Worth Bagley was shot and killed over a land dispute with a man named Keys. Keys served 5 years at San Quentin for the shooting. Before reaching the parking lot of the trail is the road to Keys Ranch where the namesake lived out the rest of his days. Bullet holes in the truck are creepy evidence of the day. Most of this painting was painted on site over 2 days and I finished the painting in my studio.
