Last week’s blog was about what I started drawing and in what medium. Portraits captured my first attention in art and it is a genre that is still my favorite. Nothing is more fascinating and beautiful than a human face. Before I moved, I taught many classes in many different techniques and mediums. This portrait of Tom Cruise was a demonstration that I did for a portrait class that I taught in Milford, Michigan. I wasn’t able to finish the piece in class, so, over the past two years I’ve been working on it little by little. And, appropriately, I finished it on the day of the Oscars.
